Daniel Hope’s no1 album “Spheres” to be released on 2LP vinyl by Deutsche Grammophon

Very pleased that the album on which I collaborated on with virtuoso violinist Daniel Hope (two pieces Musica Universalis and Biafra) along with Max Richter, Ludovico Einaudi and Gabriel Prokofiev, is now to be released on vinyl by Deutsche Grammophon. Already reaching number 1 in the UK and number 3 in the US Classical charts on CD and downloads, it is exciting to have the release on vinyl (a medium that I absolutely love). The piece Biafra is taken from my award winning score to BAFTA nominated feature film McCullin. To purchase the album from iTunes, link here.

Below is Musica Universalis as performed by Daniel at the recording sessions in Berlin.

BIAFRA and MUSICA UNIVERSALIS released on violinist Daniel Hope’s new album “Spheres”

Two of my pieces have been featured on Daniel Hope’s new album Spheres released by Deutsche Grammophon in the UK & Europe (USA early in March 2013). Musica Universalis was commissioned for Daniel especially for the album, whilst Biafra is a new arrangement of my piece of the same name from my soundtrack to film McCullin (nominated for the two BAFTA’s, my film soundtrack is available on iTunes here).

Other composers on Spheres collaborating with Daniel include Max Richter, Ludovico Einaudi, Philip Glass and Gabriel Prokofiev.

Below is a film of Daniel recording Musica Universalis in Berlin last year (the film comes as a bonus on the digital download of the album).
